Riaan Steynberg is the Founder and Director of Frontier Enterprises, with a technical background spanning electrical engineering, instrumentation, software development, automation, electronics, the Internet of Things and systems integration.
He has completed N4, N5 and N6 studies in Electrical Engineering — Instrumentation and has practical experience across electrical fault-finding, automation, IoT, security systems, electronics, computer systems and software development.
His work focuses on the point where physical engineering systems meet software, data and day-to-day operations.
That combined perspective supports work across sensors and control, microcontrollers and connected devices, Python and computer vision, web technologies, operational software and technical troubleshooting.
Approach
Technical problems rarely stay inside a single discipline. A sensor can be correctly specified while the data remains unusable. Software can be well written while failing to reflect how people actually work. Automation can save time while making a system harder to maintain.
The practical approach is to understand the whole chain: the physical input, the electronics and communications, the application logic, the user workflow and the ongoing support model. That is the common thread across Riaan’s engineering and software work.
